Fallout 4 DLC tends to sneak up on you, launching with relatively little fanfare, but today is of special significance becauseNuka-World very well may be the last DLC released for the game. After a number of workshop-related content packs, Nuka-World is once again returning to some semblance of story content, allowing players to command a city of Raiders.

While not as extensive as Far Harbor DLC from the first round of post-launch content, Nuka-World should give non-workshop players something to do (though it does bring some new Raider-themed workshop items with it).

Once again, I’ve partnered with my internet pal TheGamerPlug, who had early access to the content, and recorded showcases for all the new items that come with the DLC, including weapons, outfits and power armor. As you might expect from Raider-centric DLC, there are some pretty wicked new additions to the game.

Weapons:

The highlights here are a modifiable AK-type weapon, what appears to be an acid gun and some sort of ACME laser pistol-looking thing where I can’t even tell what it’s shooting (Update: It's actually a squirt gun, used for a specific moment in the initial story mission.). Also, there’s a ping-pong ball attached to a paddle, which is kind of hilarious if it can actually kill things.

Power Armor:

I’ve never been a big Power Armor person in Fallout 4 ever since it mean you were clunking around like the Iron Giant, but there are some cool new sprays here, and one new full set of Raider power armor that almost makes you look like a Big Daddy from BioShock.

Workshop:

Fallout 4 Nuka World Best Armor

Despite this not being official workshop DLC, there are actually a lot of new workshop pieces that come with Nuka-World, many of them theme park-themed, others the sort of skulls and spikes and barb wire you need to build your own Raider village. My favorite bit of this is a line of creepy looking statues you can use to make your lair even more foreboding.

Armor/Outfits:

That Disciple armor...

So there you have it. I’m about to load up the DLC for myself and see exactly how in-depth it is. I’m not sure how high my hopes are, and I’m a little sad there’s no more to come after this, but I hope we can at least end on a high note here.
